April 20, 2020
APRIL 20, 2020: Are you one of those people who finds that you actually get more work done when working from home? Congratulations! This time at home can make you into a superstar!
However, many of us may find that at times working from home may become a struggle to keep on track.
There are many helpful hints from people who work from home on a regular basis. Some of them appear below.
-
Create a morning, afternoon and evening routine.
-
Set a schedule for work and stick to it.
-
Close the door in your work space when you do not want to be interrupted. Consider a visual sign on the door like a red stop sign so it’s clear to others in the household you should not be disturbed. Green means okay to come in.
-
Schedule breaks a few times a day to get up stretch, and do something different for a few minutes
-
Take a walk outside or play with your pet (remember to practice social distancing)
-
If you need help – ASK!
-
Remember to have social interactions remotely. Especially if you do not share a living space with anyone. It is essential to keep a sense of mental well-being.
-
Use tools like screen sharing during meetings with others to help all participants be on the same page.
-
Maintain a work – life balance. Don’t work too much or too little. Enjoy your family.
-
Look for opportunities to learn. Online training courses are available through various industry providers.
-
Remain positive.
-
Get enough sleep.
